Our Story

Although our journeys began on different shores, the vision behind Cayeanna Swim was born from our shared frustration with the swimwear industry. We set out to change the narrative after struggling to find pieces that were not only elegant and chic, but also comfortable and supportive.

Onyx was established as a result of the entrepreneurial drive shared by Mariel Enochs (Co-owner) and myself to create luxurious swimwear that feels as good as it looks.- comfortable, sophisticated and designed to flatter real bodies.

At 40 I rediscovered my love of swimwear but kept running into pieces that were either poorly made, overpriced or simply didn't provide the level of support I needed. I strongly believed that a market exists for women like myself.

Although my job was fulfilling, my enthusiasm had been gradually declining, and I refused to settle for just coasting through the latter part of my life. Recognizing that my girlfriend, Mariel, shared my affinity for swimwear and possessed a sharp eye for design, we identified an opportunity and acted on it.

My journey in design began during my college days. Being an ardent swimmer, I was disappointed by the lack of swimwear options that were both flattering and practical. This prompted me to team up with my mother to bring my designs to life. With my natural flair for design and my fondness for bikinis, we collaborated on a knitted bikini that could withstand rigorous swim workouts.

Despite later venturing into PR and Event Planning, my passion for swimwear design never waned. I continued to enhance my skills by enrolling in fashion design and construction courses at a nearby college.

In 2017 my girlfriend, Marina, shared her frustration at the scarcity of comfortable, beautiful and chic swimwear options. This reignited my desire to pursue my passion for swimwear design and create the perfect swimsuit with her.
